Two Edgerton teens have been arrested stemming from the February OxyCodone overdose death of a 13-year-old boy.

A 14-year-old girl has been referred to juvenile authorities on a charge of first-degree reckless homicide, and a 13-year-old boy has been referred on a charge of possession of prescription medication, according to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office. The teens were arrested after toxicology results from the state crime lab confirmed that Alexander Aiken of Milton Township died of an OxyCodone overdose Feb. 9 in his home.

The death has officially been ruled drug toxicity, according to the Rock County Coroner’s Office. The source of the drugs was a relative of the suspect, according to the sheriff’s office.

Both teens are in juvenile detention and are expected to appear in Rock Count Court on Friday.

why arent they charging this girls mother as well. she shouldnt leave narcotics out where kids can get ahold of them. she is the one who recklessly endangered all these children by her negligence of keeping her pills put up. how can you say you didnt know your pills were missing? if the daughter was already on probation, did you think you could really trust her? i know this lady probably didnt think too much (obviously), but they should make an example out of her as well so people will think twice! i work in a hospital, and those types of meds are always double locked up. i think it is ignorance on the person the ozycontin was prescribed to!
