— Police are investigating a pair of burglaries that happened before 4:30 a.m. Tuesday at two businesses in the Sunnyside Shopping Center on the cityís west side.

A newspaper delivery person called 911 at 4:19 a.m. after discovering the broken/smashed front door of CVS Pharmacy, 1832 W. Court St., said Sgt. Aaron Ellis.

At 4:20 a.m. burglary alarms at CVS and the Family Dollar Store, 1820 W. Court St., alerted authorities, he said.

One of the departmentís crime scene officers who specializes in evidence collection, was at the scene along with a canine unit that is tracking where officers believe suspects exited the stores, Ellis said.

Police believe there are multiple suspects and said a large brick or rock was used to break the glass doors.
