A 6-year-old Edgerton boy remains in critical condition at UW-Madison Hospital after he was hit by a van last week while riding his bicycle across a busy intersection on Edgertonís north side.

According to a report released this week by Edgerton Police Department, a van driven by Neil R. Johnston, 49, 31 Mildred Ave., Edgerton, was northbound on North Main Street at the intersection of East Ladd Lane at 7:37 a.m. Thursday, when it struck the boy.

The boy was riding a bicycle westbound across North Main Street and had failed to yield to Johnstonís vehicle, the report said.

The boy sustained head injuries in the accident. He was transported to Edgerton Hospital, where he was stabilized. He was then taken by MedFlight to UW-Madison Hospital, the Edgerton Fire District reported.
