— The Janesville American Legion tumbled, 12-8, to visiting Kenosha in Region 7 League baseball Monday at Riverside Park.

Janesville was its own worst enemy, committing six errors, walking nine, hitting three batters, allowing two passed balls and allowing Kenosha to steal eight bases.

“We scored enough runs to win the game,” Janesville coach Bob Schenck said. “Hitting has not been a problem, but our defense and holding runners is a problem.’’

Janesville held an 8-6 lead until Kenosha scored three runs on no hits in the sixth inning for a 9-8 lead. Kenosha added three runs in the seventh to seal the victory.

Janesville dropped to 9-6 overall and 6-2 in the league.

“We played a good Triple A team,” Schenck said. “You can’t make those kind of mistakes and beat those good Triple A teams.’’

Janesville hosts Burlington at Riverside Park at 7 p.m.
