Virginia man hurt in dive off pier

— A Virginia man was hospitalized Thursday after diving off a pier at the municipal beach in the village of Fontana.

Ian Miltenberger, 18, of Asburn, Va., climbed out of the water and reported he was hurt at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the beach at 505 Lake St., Fontana, according to Fontana Police Department records.

No one witnessed the accident, the report states.

Miltenberger was transported by helicopter to UW Hospital, Madison. He was reported to be in good condition Friday morning.

Fontana should maybe check out the facilities they offer - dillinger has a valid point!

I wonder if he dove in at the shallow end and hit his head on some of those rocks that are there, or came up under the pier and hit it.
