— A recent accident emphasizes the need for another enforcement effort in Rock County.

Rock County Sheriff's Office Captain, Jude Maurer, says an intoxicated driver hit the department's "speed trailer" recently, putting it out of commission.

Maurer says the trailer has been hit before, but they've never been able to catch the offending driver. This time, according to Maurer, the driver was arrested for OWI, 3rd offense, and other traffic violations.

Maurer says the county received a state grant recently and will deploy an additional eight patrols this weekend to crack down on intoxicated and impaired drivers.

Maurer says the trailer is serviceable and will need repairs but won't need to be replaced, this time.
