— Beloit engine maker, Fairbanks Morse, could be very busy if the U.S. Navy chooses Lockheed Martin to make their littoral combat ships.

Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics currently each make a version of the ship, and the navy has decided to rely on just one contractor.

Fairbanks Morse spokesman, John Bottorf, says they're expecting a decision from the navy in July, although it may be later.

One ship, produced by Lockheed Martin, has already been delivered to the navy. Each ship is run by two 16 cylinder Fairbanks Morse diesel engines and two gas turbines made by Rolls Royce.
