Lancers to play for state baseball title

Madison La Follette High School’s baseball team didn’t stop with its state quarterfinal blowout of Fort Atkinson.


The Lancers advanced to today’s WIAA Division 1 title game by outscoring Waterford, 9-4, Wednesday at UW-Oshkosh in a semifinal game that was rescheduled from late Tuesday night.


La Follette (19-9), which went 10-7 in the Big Eight Conference, faces defending champion Bay Port (24-7) in the 6 p.m. finale at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute, where all other tournament games are being played.

Zach Peterson and A.J Gaura each had three hits and three RBIs to lead Bay Port.
