Beloit Snappers strike early for easy victory over Cedar Rapids

— There was no holding back the Beloit Snappers here Wednesday afternoon.

Beloit broke loose in six-run second inning and went on to 11-2 rout of Cedar Rapids in Midwest League baseball.


Beloit announced earlier in the day that hard-hitting outfielder Angel Morales, the reigning Midwest League Offensive Player of the week, has been promoted in high Class A ball in Fort Myers, Fla.


The Snappers drilled the Kernels for 14 hits, including 3-for-4 performances by designated hitter Josmil Pinto and Anderson Hidalgo. Danny Rams went 2-for-4 and drove in four runs, including a HR.


Beloit begins a three-game home series against Clinton, Iowa, at 7 p.m. Friday.
