The Albion Tigers won a wild one Sunday in Home Talent League baseball.

Casey Schmeling walked and scored on three wild pitches in the eighth inning for the winning run as the host Tigers

(4-4) rallied for a 6-5 victory over Orfordville (2-5) in the West Division of the Southeast Section.

Orfordville had the tying run on second base in the ninth, but Matt Buhrow’s running catch in deep right field for the second out helped save the game for Albion.

Brandon Smith’s double ignited a three-run fourth inning that gave Orfordville a 4-0 lead. Two of those runs scored on Joe Cox’s infield hit.

Marty Johnson’s leadoff single was the only hit in a four-run fifth that lifted Albion into a 4-4 tie. After the Orioles regained the lead on Zach Jones’ RBI double in the sixth, the Tigers forced the 5-5 tie on Josh Eastman’s single and Jason Millar’s double to right-center in the seventh.

Mike Nanstad got the win in three innings of scoreless relief pitching after Justin Lambert struck out 11 in six innings for the Tigers. Albion’s pitchers gave up six hits, but the Tigers managed only five off three Orfordville pitchers.

Other Southeast action:

-- Stoughton 13, Evansville 3—Stoughton (4-3) scored 10 runs in its last two at-bats to put away visiting Evansville (3-4) in an eight-

Three walks, two hit batsmen and a two-out error put Stoughton in control at 7-3 in a fourth-run seventh. Lonnie Klecker, who was 3-for-4, and Tanner Klitzke each doubled in the Merchants’ six-run eighth.

Paton had two of Evansville’s three hits off Eric Engler, who pitched a complete game and struck out eight.
