WCLO's Steve Benton reports on $2 million worth of changes to the Kreuger-Haskell Municipal Golf Course in Beloit

RSS

— Changes are coming to the Kreuger-Haskell Municipal Golf Course in Beloit.

A project, scheduled for this fall, includes reshaping some of the fairways and adding a number of retention ponds.

Beloit Public Works Director, Dave Botts, says the state wants the city to reduce the amount of suspended solids in storm water run-off 40% by 2013. Botts predicts some of that will be accomplished by building the ponds.

Some of the ponds would also serve as water hazards on the course, while others will be "out of play."

The cost of the project is around $2 million and will come from fees collected by the city's storm water utility. Work is scheduled to be completed by next spring.
