-- HAROLD W. GENTNER, 46, of 10813 E. Creek Road, Clinton, at 8:49 p.m. Monday, at home on charges of felon in possession of firearm, endangering safety with use of dangerous weapon with a domestic violence rider, disorderly conduct while armed and criminal damage to property. The charges stem from an incident earlier Monday when Gentner fired a shotgun in the air and threatened people he knew, according to police.

-- JOSE I. ESTRADA, 28, of 1929 Colony Court, No. 11, Beloit at 12:25 p.m. Monday at the Boone County Jail, Belvidere, Ill. on charges of forgery, two counts.

-- DAVID M. HARPER, 21, of 1325 S. Arch St., Janesville, at 2:40 p.m. Monday at home on a charge of escape.

-- A 48-YEAR-OLD MALE, 4:30 p.m. Monday, at the Rock County Jail on a charge of child enticement for incidents from 2003 to 2005.

-- EMILY M. KIENBAUM, 28, of 2024 Arbutus St., Janesville, at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday at 1 S. Main St., Janesville, on a charge of child neglect.

Intoxicated driving arrests

-- RONALD L. COLBORN, JR., 43, of 2157 Wisconsin Ave., Beloit, at 12:41 a.m. Saturday at Cranston Road and Prairie Agene, Beloit.

-- KEVIN A. FIELDS, 46, 2426 N. Sumac Drive, Janesville, at 2:21 a.m. Wednesday at Milton Avenue and Humes Road, Janesville.

Intoxicated driving arrests

-- ANDREW R. SCHMIDT, 23, of 633 Foxglove Lane, No. 1, Whitewater, at 4:39 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of West Center Street, Whitewater. Also cited for operating after revocation and open intoxicants in a motor vehicle.

-- RYAN E. JONES, 35, Elgin, Ill., at 2:16 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of North Main Street, Walworth, after he hit a parked car. Also ticketed for operating left of center.


-- GAS LEAK at Cottage and Main streets, Whitewater, reported at about 9:45 a.m. Buildings in a two-block radius, including Andersen Library, Hyer Hall and Greenhill Center for the Arts on the UW-Whitewater campus, were evacuated as a precaution, said Whitewater Police Chief Jim Coan. The gas company shut off the main, and the buildings were reopened by about 10:30 a.m.


-- SOUTH STREET EAST OF LAKESHORE DRIVE, Lake Geneva. At 11:41 a.m. May 20, a sport-utility vehicle driven by John J. Hrischuk, 39, W3087 S. Lakeshore Drive, Lake Geneva, attempted to stop to turn onto Lakeshore Drive but could not because the brakes failed. Hrischuk steered the vehicle off the road to avoid a collision with another vehicle and caused the vehicle to roll. He was transported to a local hospital, but his condition was unknown.

-- MAIN STREET EAST OF CURTIS STREET, Lake Geneva. At 6:13 p.m. May 19, a car driven by Debbie D. McCarthy, 35, Twin Lakes, turned toward the backseat of her car to ask her son to put on his seat belt, reached to move her purse and rear-ended a sport utility vehicle driven by Dale P. Grzenia, 49, N2635 Woodlane Road, Lake Geneva. A passenger in McCarthy’s vehicle, Anthony C. Patty, 11, reportedly was transported to a local hospital, but his condition was unknown.
