Dragons top Beloit Snappers

— The visiting Dayton Dragons had twice as many hits as Beloit and beat the Snappers, 5-2, in Midwest League baseball Tuesday.

The Dragons outhit the Snappers, 10-5, including a pair of doubles and two triples.


Beloit scored twice in the sixth inning to knot the game, 2-2. Dayton scored twice in the seventh and added an insurance run in the eighth for the winning margin.


Snappers starter Michael Tonkin (0-4) took the loss, allowing four runs on nine hits through seven innings. Tonkin had five strikeouts and did not issue a walk.
