WCLO's Stan Stricker reports on big summer planned for Janesville's Lincoln-Tallman House

This may be an important summer for Janesville's Lincoln-Tallman house.

The landmark needs a lot. The city council says it needs to incorporate a new business plan which includes catering events like weddings. Supporters say the house needs hundreds of thousand of dollars in repairs. Above all, Rock County Historical Society Director Joel Van Haaften says it needs to do something to gain more support. With some members on the city council questioning the worth of a home based museum, Van Haaften calls this a critical time. The Historical Society is reaching out for support in a variety of ways including a a number of summer events including a new two-day civil war style reenactment, upcoming Father's Day celebration, and of course the traditional Tallman Arts Festival which Van Haaften says could attract up to 100 exhibitors this year.

The Tallman House is also open for tour seven days a week during the summer.
