Burman helps Milton baseball advance, other scores

Dan Burman’s two-run single lifted Milton High’s baseball team to an 8-6 victory over Madison Memorial in a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal game Tuesday.


The Red Hawks (12-11) play Janesville Craig in a regional final game at 5 p.m. Friday at Riverside Park. The winner advances to the Craig Sectional.


Sam McCann went the distance to pick up Milton’s win. The sophomore struck out seven and walked only two.


Twin brothers Nick and Josh Meyers combined to go 5-for-8 for the Red Hawks.

Knutson threw a complete-game seven-hitter, and was 3-for-3 at the plate, including a double.


Fort Atkinson plays at Verona on Friday in a regional final game. The winner qualifies for the Janesville Craig Sectional.

Bierman stroked a two-run single in the fifth inning for the winning runs.

The Badgers (14-10) play at Kenosha Bradford on Friday in a regional final. The winner advances to the Badger Sectional.
