— A Janesville elementary school principal has been placed on administrative leave. Officials would not say what prompted the action against Jackson Elementary School Principal John Walczak.

A letter announcing the action was being sent to parents Tuesday.

Superintendent Karen Schulte said the situation does not involve students and is not the subject of a police investigation.

Walczak is on leave pending an internal investigation, Schulte said.
