The City of Janesville is sponsoring a home energy assessment program.

City Management Analyst Al Hulick says homeowners were lined up outside the city hall for the first day of sign up Monday. He says 150 will be signed up on a first come-first serve bases. The goal is to help homeowners find ways to be more energy efficient. Hulick says a prepared report may help homeowners qualify for cash-back rewards to make home energy improvements.

The city also plans to match any approved cash-back rewards through Wisconsin Focus on Energy.
