Beloit building audit
City manager Larry Arft says they sent out requests for proposals and are close to choosing one of the ten firms responding. He says the Shaw Environmental Group, which has offices in Chicago and Milwaukee, has done work for the city before. They'll be conducting an audit of about a dozen city buildings.
Arft says city hall will probably be chosen for the study for alternative energy sources. If the study proves successful, alternative energy sources would be considered for other city owned buildings as well.
The study is expected to be completed by the end of year.
