A 39-year-old Chicago man was hospitalized after rear-ending an SUV with his motorcycle Monday on Interstate 90/39 near Janesville, the Wisconsin State Patrol reported.

Authorities said around 2:30 p.m., a man riding a Harley-Davidson trike-style motorcycle was westbound on I-90/39 near the Highway 11 exit on Janesville’s south end when he came up on slowed traffic and was unable to stop. He then rear-ended a Ford Explorer pulling a trailer and was thrown into the median.

The motorcyclist was transported to a Mercy Hospital in Janesville with non-life-threatening injuries, the report.

The driver of the SUV, a 33-year-old Madison woman, was apparently uninjured.

Neither of the parties involved in the crash was named, and it was unclear if alcohol was a factor.
