It’s July, signaling the time for Janesville and area golfers’ attention to focus on the annual city and county tournaments.

In fact, Saturday, the Fourth of July, is the last day for the early sign-up discount fee of $130 in the Janesville Men’s City Tournament. After that, it will be $140.

The 54-hole men’s tournament is July 23-25, with each of the three local courses hosting an 18-hole round. The Rock County Women’s Championship is July 31 and Aug. 1 at Riverside, and the Super Senior City Tournament is Sept. 9-10 at Riverside.

In one of two major changes for the Janesville Optimist Junior Tournament, competition has been pushed back a week to July 19-20—leading off the week of the men’s tournament. In addition, the junior competition no longer is a “city” tournament—opening the two-day event to all male and female amateurs in the junior age groups.
