— J.J. Hardy didn’t make a difference in the Beloit Snappers’ 1-0 loss to the visiting Cedar Rapids Kernels in Midwest League baseball Wednesday night.

Hardy went 0-for-3 and committed one of two Snappers’ errors in the first game of his rehabilitation assignment for the Minnesota Twins.

Cedar Rapids starter Tyler Skaggs (6-3) allowed two hits through the first five innings to earn the victory. The Snappers managed three more hits the rest of the way.

Beloit starter Ben Stillings (7-4) surrendered a two-out RBI double in the fifth inning to take the loss.

Hardy is tentatively scheduled to play tonight and Friday before returning to the Twins.
