Milwaukee Washington rolls over Beloit

— Less than 24 hours after knocking off the top-ranked Madison East Purgolders, the Beloit Memorial High School boys basketball team had no answer for the Purgolders of Milwaukee Washington.

Quevyl Winters and Dominique Williams combined for 40 points to lead Washington to a 74-52 win over Beloit in the Nicole Ellis Foundation Classic at Milwaukee South on Saturday afternoon.


Beloit (10-6) trailed by four at half but was outscored 22-8 in the third quarter.


K.J. Evans had 18 points to lead the Purple Knights.


Winters led Washington (8-5) with 22 points, and Williams added 18.
