Austin Arians scored 29 points, including six three-point baskets, to lead Madison Edgewood High School past visiting Milton, 52-44, in Badger South Conference boys basketball action Friday night.


Edgewood (8-6, 6-1) moved into undisputed first place in the Badger South after Monroe (5-2) lost to Stoughton.


Milton, which dropped to 1-6 in the Badger South and 2-12 overall, got 15 points from Sam McCann.

n Monona Grove 83, Fort Atkinson 55—Monona Grove (9-6, 5-2) outscored Fort Atkinson 36-7 in the first quarter en route a Badger South win that boosted the Silver Eagles into a second-place tie.


Monona Grove’s press helped turn a 4-4 tie into the huge first quarter.


Max Gehrmann (15 points), Zach Zweifel (15), Jack Retzlaff (11), and Drew Bauer (11) all scored in double digits for Monona Grove.


Logan Schwandt had 22 points for Fort Atkinson (2-12, 0-6), and Tanner Boos added 14.

In beating Monroe for the second time this season, the Vikings (8-7, 5-2) knocked the Cheesemakers (10-3, 5-2) out of a first-place tie.


Eric Gerber scored 19 points, including three three-pointers, to lead the Vikings.


Tordoff had six three-pointers.
