Janesville Craig wrestlers end dual season by rallying in win

Janesville Craig’s wrestling team ended the Big Eight Conference dual meet season by rallying for a win Thursday night over Verona.

The Cougars (5-2) fell behind 17-0 after four matches, but took control in the upper weights en route to 42-27 win.

In a battle of state-ranked wrestlers at 130 pounds, Craig’s Siven Furseth (24-0) remained unbeaten on the season with a 3-0 win over Jared Kissinger. Furseth is the top-ranked wrestler in Division 1, while Kissinger is ranked sixth.

The Cougars also got pins from Jamie Kumlien at 125 and Jesse Davilla at 135. Kyle Upmann also won by decision at 119 for Craig.
