Janesville Bluebirds fall in third
Hartland Arrowhead scored the final two goals to beat visiting Janesville, 5-3, in a nonconference high school hockey game Thursday night.
The game was tied, 2-2, entering the final period, and 3-3 during the period, before Arrowhead scored the final two goals.
“We’ve dropped five games where we were tied or there was a one-goal difference,” said Janesville coach John Mauermann. “We have to find a way to close those out.”
Cody Iverson, Cody Stettin and Sean MacDougall each scored a goal for the Bluebirds (9-9). Macdougall’s goal tied the game at 3-3.
Janesville fell behind, 2-0, before Iverson scored after taking a pass from Stettin. Iverson moved around the back of the net and found an opeing.
Stettin tied the game in the second period when he stuck in a rebound after Ron Lindgren put the puck on the net.
The Bluebirds, who played only one home game in January, host Madison Memorial on Tuesday night.
