Parker shares wrestling crown

MIDDLETON — Janesville Parker High School tied Sun Prairie for the Big Eight Conference dual meet wrestling title by defeating Middleton, 44-27, here Wednesday night.

Parker and Sun Prairie finished 7-0 in league duals. The Cardinals cruised past Beloit Memorial, 65-12, for their share of the title.

The Vikings will not wrestle Sun Prairie, and their victory over Madison La Follette does not count in the conference standings in the round-robin schedule.

Parker won eight matches against Middleton. Brandon Zielinger (130), Josh Lindaas (145) and Nick Ackerman (215) registered pins for Parker.
