Delavan-Darien rallies past Big Foot

Delavan-Darien High School caught fire in the second half to down a determined Walworth Big Foot, 59-56, in nonconference girls basketball Saturday at Delavan.


Jordyn Courier, a Southern Illinois University recruit, scored 18 of her 21 points in the first half, including four of her five three-point goals to give the Chiefs a 25-19 lead.


The Comets came roaring back behind junior Alana Cesarz, who scored 14 of her 26 points in the third quarter, to boost Delavan-Darien (9-3) to a 38- 35 lead.


Courtney Flood scored 13 of her 18 points in the fourth quarter to keep the Comets ahead.

n Elkhorn 61, Bradford 50—The Elks held Kenosha Bradford to single digits in the first half for a commanding 36-14 lead en route to a nonconference win.


Katherine Neshek scored 17 points to pace Elkhorn (6-7) and teammate Carly Larsen added 13. Bradford’s Katie Young, a Marquette University recruit, was held to three baskets and 13 points.

Clinton (5-8) made 25 of 39 free throws to maintain its advantage. Laura Popanz scored 12 points to pace the Cougars.
