Jasmine Koch was a buzzer-beater for Orfordville Parkview High School’s girls basketball team Thursday night.

Koch’s basket as the buzzer sounded lifted the Vikings to a critical 49-48 victory over visiting McFarland in a Rock Valley crossover game.

The win kept Parkview (10-1, 6-1) tied with defending champion Brodhead for the South Division lead. McFarland (8-4, 5-2) fell a game behind front-running Jefferson (8-2, 6-1) in the North.

Parkview, ranked sixth in the state in Division 3, trailed by five in the last minute but rallied after McFarland missed back-to-back bonus free-throw attempts. Parkview’s Jenna Larsen missed with three seconds left, but Koch grabbed the rebound and banked in the winning basket underneath as time expired.

McFarland trailed by 13 at half, but Kaitlyn Eversoll rallied the Spartans in the second half. Eversoll finished with a game-high 24 points.

Stephanie Aasen led the Vikings with 16 points, while Larsen and Koch added 10 points each.
