Jets help North win
Team North got a boost from Janesville Jets players in the North’s 5-2 victory over Team West in the NAHL’s Top Prospects All-Star game in Detroit on Monday.
The Jets’ Rui Encarnarco and Derek Jacobson scored a goal apiece, Ross Mauermann, a Janesville Parker High School graduate, added a pair of assists and goalkeeper Matt Wichorek made 38 saves.
Encarnarcao put Team North on the board at 5:36 of the first period with an assist from Jacobson to tie the game 1-1. Jacobson scored an empty net goal with an assist from Mauermann for the final outcome.
Jets’ coach Dane Litke was an assistant coach for Team North.
