Butke leads Comets’ rout

Tyler Butke and his Delavan-Darien High boys basketball teammates were operating on all cylinders Monday night.


Butke, a 6-5 senior, led the way with 26 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks as the Comets (5-6, 2-4) overpowered visiting Lake Geneva Badger, 75-44, in a Southern Lakes makeup game.


Junior guard Marcus McLin scored seven of his nine points for Delavan-Darien in a 26-8 first quarter that put the Comets in control. Butke scored 20 in the second half.


Justin Bowers and Preston Dailey led Badger (2-8, 1-5) with 18 and 14 points, respectively.
