WCLO's Stan Stricker reports on homecoming parade plans to welcome National Guard soldiers back to Janesville

RSS

The welcome home for soldiers from Janesville's Alpha Company of the 132nd Brigade Support Battalion is far from over.

Hundreds of family and friends turned out at Volk field Monday, but more is being planned. Lucy Anderson of Janesville says plans for a parade are firming up for the weekend. She says an overwhelming number of people have volunteered to help plan the event. She's hoping citizens line the route down Milton Avenue to East Milwaukee to Main Street.

The goal is to ensure the soldiers they are appreciated.

Had so much fun tying yellow ribbons along the parade route tonight. It looks awesome driving down Milton Ave. and seeing the ribbons hanging there. Now just to have Sunday get here for the parade and show our soldiers our support.
