Janesville Parker's Whitson wins four events, all-around

Erika Whitson won all four events and the all-around title to help Janesville Parker defeat host Milton, 130-123.15, in a nonconference gymnastics match Tuesday night.

Whitson won the vault (8.35), uneven bars (8.65), balance beam (8.65), floor exercise (9.4) to win the all–around with a 35.20 score.

“We reached the 130-point mark, which we have been striving for,” Parker girls coach Cathy Lehmann said. “Now we can up the team goals.

“Erika had a very consistent meet, and Emily Mauermann had a good meet,” Lehmann said. “Emily Richardson (8.3) had a great vault score, and Meredith Little had a (personal record) in the floor exercise.”

Milton, which has been hit hard by injuries, was led by Cassie Cropp, who finished second to Whitson in the all-around with a 33.75 score.

Parker will compete at home against Middleton on Thursday.
