Delavan-Darien High School held visiting Wilmot (2-6, 1-4)to single digits in three quarters to notch a 47-32 victory in Southern Lakes girls basketball Friday night.


Michelle Wenzel scored 16 points, including eight in the third quarter, to boost Delavan-Darien (8-1, 4-1). Alana Cesarz added 12 points for the Comets.

n Badger 52, Burlington 35—Gina Ambrose hit four three-point shots en route to a 20-point game to lead Lake Geneva Badger (2-7, 1-4) past host Burlington (3-8, 2-3) in Southern Lakes action.


Lana Wieseman added 11 points for the Badgers, who trailed 8-3 after the first quarter.


Cassi McCarthy led Burlington with 14 points.

n Waterford 50, Elkhorn 32—Waterford hit Elkhorn with a 16-4 fourth quarter to clinch a Southern Lakes victory that kept the Wolverines (8-1, 4-1) tied with Delavan-Darien for second place.


Stephanie Rank scored 13 of her game-high 17 points in the second half to spark Waterford, which pulled away from a 21-18 halftime edge. Jennifer Hribar had 10 of her 16 for the Wolverines in the last two quarters.


Katherine Neshik paced Elkhorn (4-6, 1-4) with 10 points.
