Jets’ winning streak hits seven

— The hot streak continues for the Janesville Jets.

Janesville’s first-year North American Hockey League team ran its winning streak to seven with a 6-3 win over Alpena on Sunday night.

The Jets took a 2-0 lead after two periods and added four goals in the third to sweep the weekend series over the IceDiggers.

Cam Severson scored twice for the Jets, while Matt Wichorek stopped 21 shots in goal to pick up the win.

Janesville will play at the three-time defending NAHL champion St. Louis Bandits this weekend.

Janesville native Daniel Olszewski is the Bandits’ leading scorer and recently signed a National Letter of Intent to skate for Denver University.
