Walworth Big Foot High School is a Rock Valley South champion—again.


Many of the athletes who led the Chiefs to conference and state titles in football last fall came through Friday night to give the school its first boys basketball championship since 1999.


Big Foot notched a 74-58, title-clinching victory over visiting Clinton and claimed the undisputed championship when Orfordville Parkview lost to Turner.


The Chiefs finished 11-5 in the South, one game ahead Parkview, which came up short in its bid for its first conference title since 1966.


Clinton took a 20-13 first-quarter lead over Big Foot, but the Chiefs bounced back with a 23-18 advantage in the second period to pull within 38-36 by halftime.


Big Foot took control for good in a 25-8 third quarter that made it 63-44.


Marcus Greben scored nine points of his 21 points in the third quarter, while Steve Dowden added eight of his 22. Dowden sank four three-point baskets overall and was 8-for-8 from the foul line.


Cody Risseeuw scored a game-high 27 points for Clinton (11-11, 8-8), and Ross Oldenburg added 11.

n Brodhead 66, Palmyra-Eagle 47—J.J. Panoske scored 36 points to lead Brodhead (14-8, 10-6) past the Panthers (1-21, 0-16) in a Rock Valley South finale.


Panoske connected on 14 field goals, one three-pointer and was 5-of-5 from the free-throw line in getting his seventh 30-plus game of the season.


Nick Jacobson added 10 points for Brodhead, which jumped out to a 17-8 first-quarter lead.


Kevin McGivern, Ben Preuss and Shane Houk each scored 10 points to lead Palmyra-Eagle.

n Edgerton 58, Evansville 48—Adam Gregory scored nine of his 13 points in the fourth quarter to seal a Crimson Tide (9-13, 7-9) victory over the visiting Blue Devils (10-12, 8-8) in a Rock Valley North finale.


Evansville took a 14-10 first-quarter lead, but Edgerton gained a 17-11 advantage in the second quarter for a 27-25 lead. The Tide scored the first five points of the third quarter to take the lead for good, 32-25, and earn a split in the season series.


Danny Ozga and Tyler Oren scored 10 points each for Edgerton. Brian Lunde scored 16 points for Evansville, while teammates Casey Moseley and Dylan Erickson added 11 apiece.

n East Troy 84, Whitewater 69—East Troy put an appropriate touch on its Rock Valley North title by breezing past host Whitewater.


East Troy hit 12 three-pointers, led by Nate Dodge’s five. Dodge finished with 17 points. Brandon Schmidt led the Trojans (19-3, 15-1) with 22 points, while Scott Beckwith added 18.


Tony Bilderback led the Whippets (6-10, 8-14) with 23 points, while Mike Gabbey had 13 in retiring Hugh Gnatzig’s final conference game as Whitewater coach.

McFarland (13-9, 10-6) trailed by 12 after three quarters but rallied behind Tyler Wedel’s nine points in the fourth.


Tyler Tomczak led the Eagles (4-17, 3-13) with a game-high 21 points.
