Columbus tips Lakeside

Lakeside Lutheran’s girls basketball team gave Columbus all it could handle, but fell just short against the Capitol North Conference leader, 37-35.


A victory would have vaulted Lakeside (16-3, 7-3) into a first-place tie with Columbus (18-2, 9-1).


Sam Seltzner scored 11 points to lead Columbus, while Jenna Luisier scored nine points to pace Lakeside.


The teams played even except in the third quarter, when Columbus outscored Lakeside 10-8.

Six Rivers East

-- Black Hawk 61, Albany 13—Rachel Rygh and Katie Place each scored 10 points as Black Hawk, the No. 3 team in Division 4, rolled past Albany.


Black Hawk (19-1, 11-0) took a 30-8 at halftime, then outscored Albany


(10-10, 5-6) 17-1 in the third quarter.
