Delavan-Darien High’s sizzling Comets continue to soar in Southern Lakes boys basketball.


Tyler Butke scored a career-high 36 points Friday night as the host Comets (12-7, 8-5) hit the 80-point mark for the second time this week in roaring past Union Grove, 80-64, for their sixth straight win.


Justin Fowlkes also went 10-for-10 on fourth-quarter free throws, while the Comets were 14-for-15 from the line during that stretch, to wrap Delavan-Darien’s seventh win in eight games.


Butke had 12 points in a 20-10 second quarter that gave Delavan-Darien as 37-22 halftime lead. The 6-5 senior also had 13 in the third quarter.


Fowlkes finished with 15 points, and Mark Armato had 12, including nine in a 17-12 first quarter.


Overall, the Comets made 20 of 24 free throws.


Nate Radke and Ben Roettgen had 16 and 15 points, respectively, to lead Union Grove (9-12, 6-7).
