Butke, Delavan-Darien Comets continue to roll

Tyler Butke and his Delavan-Darien High teammates kept their hot streak a live Tuesday night in Southern Lakes boys basketball.


Butke 21 of his game-high 33 points in the first half to lead the visiting Comets over Lake Geneva Badger, 83-64.


Delavan-Darien (11-7, 7-5) rolled to a 41-26 first-half lead.


Justin Fowlkes added 21 points for Delavan-Darien. Justin Bowers scored 22 points and Laramie Weiseman added 15 points for Badger (6-13, 3-9).

-- Elkhorn 39, Westosha 30—Skyler O’Laughlin scored seven of his 18 points in the fourth quarter to help Elkhorn hold off host Westosha Central (6-12, 6-5) in Southern Lakes action.


O’Laughlin hit three of four free throws, and the Elks (9-10, 5-6) made seven of nine free throws in the final quarter. O’Laughlin also had seven points in the third quarter when Elkhorn went from a 12-11 halftime deficit to a 26-17 lead.

-- Waterford 64, Burlington 55—Waterford (15-3, 11-0) made 22 of 26 free throws to beat second-place Burlington (13-6, 8-4) and clinch the Southern Lakes championship.


Joe Sturino made all 10 of his free throws en route to a 19-point game for the Wolverines. Tommy Vaccaro also had 19 points and made six of seven free throws. Brent Plantz added 10 points.


Russ Robers had 16 points for the Demons.

Nathan Radke led Union Grove (9-11, 5-5) with 17 points. Teammates Michael Giese and Caleb Beachem each added 10.


Wilmot’s Chris Nelson led all scorers with 24 points. Mitch Marks scored 12 for the Panthers (4-15, 0-11).
