Like many school districts, Beloit is facing some tough budgeting decisions.

Local school district's may have the right to make-up state budget shortfalls by increasing local property taxes, but Beloit School Board President Michael Ramsdail isn't excited about the idea. Ramsdail says raising taxes in a community so hard hit by unemployment is a tough thing to consider.

In an effort to find a more public friendly solution, the school board is hosting a community forum at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Beloit Public Library Conference Room, to talk about ways to reduce both educational program cuts and increases in the property tax.
