Milton falls to Wilmot; Comets roll over Lakeside; Bay ties for first

Milton High School played tough in the first half but could not keep up with visiting Wilmot in the second half en route to a 79-64 loss in nonconference boys basketball Saturday night.


Milton (3-15) trailed 41-40 at the half, but Wilmot (4-14) gained a 17-10 third-quarter advantage for a 58-50 lead. Grant Dull scored nine of his game-high 27 points in the third quarter to put the Panthers in command.


Nate Hammon scored 17 points, including four three-point baskets, to pace the Red Hawks. Brandon Knutson added 14 points and Sam McCann chipped in 10 points.

n Delavan-Darien 75, Lakeside 65—Tyler Butke scored seven points in a decisive 11-0 run in the final quarter to lead Delavan-Darien to a nonconference boys win at Lakesdide Lutheran.


Butke finished with 27 points. The Comets (10-7) led by only a point, 60-59, when Butke led the charge to build the advantage to 71-59.


Justin Fowlkes added 19 points in the win.


Zak Gartner led the Warriors (13-5) with 17 points. Sam Kuehl and Jake Jarnigo each added 14.

Trailways South


Jack Slovick scored 23 points to lead Williams Bay to a 72-65 victory over Deerfield in Trailways South boys basketball Saturday.


The win lifted the Bulldogs (13-5, 9-1) into a first-place tie with Rio.


Slovick scored eight points, including six straight free throws in the fourth quarter, to keep the Bulldogs in control. Matthew Dreger scored 13 of his 19 points in the second quarter, while teammate Lawrence Crement chipped in 13 points.
