Stoughton shoots down Milton

Eleven three-point goals, including seven in the first half, powered Stoughton past host Milton, 72-50, in Badger South Conference boys basketball action Thursday night.


The Vikings built a 46-19 first-half lead. Tyler Kowalkowski led the winners with 19 points, including five three-pointers. Tom Speth had 16 points, including four three-pointers.


Brandon Farnsworth led the Red Hawks with 13 points. Brandon Ross had 11 and Sam McCann and Nate Hammon each added 10.

-- Oregon 62, Fort Atkinson 45—Oregon jumped to an early lead and cruised over Fort Atkinson Thursday night. Cory Byrne scored 17 points for Oregon while teammate Adam Gorman chipped in 13 points in the win. Fort Atkinson’s Logan Schwandt led all scorers with 26 points on the night.

-- Monroe 37, Madison Edgewood 27—Baskets were hard to come by at Edgewood but the visiting and three-time defending Badger South champion Cheesemakers outlasted the Crusaders.


Monroe (13-3, 8-2) moved into a tie with Edgewood (10-7, 8-2) thanks to a defense that limited the Crusaders to single digit scoring in the first three quarters.
