— Janesville Parker’s gymnastics team wrapped up a successful Big Eight Conference dual meet season Thursday night.

The Vikings, behind another strong performance from Erika Whitson, defeated Madison West, 131.85-126.575.

Whitson, a junior, won the uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and the all-around.

“We had a pretty good night,” said Parker coach Cathy Lehmann, whose team finished the dual meet season with a 5-2 record.

“I was really pleased with Erika and Emily (Mauermann’s) routine on balance beam. A 9.5 and an 8.875 are very good scores.”

Parker will compete in the conference tournament a week from Saturday at Madison Memorial.
