Bundy sends Warhawks to top

— Nicole Bundy polished her her team Player of the Week luster with a 30-point performance to lead visiting UW-Whitewater to an 88-77 victory over UW-Platteville in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women’s basketball Wednesday on Bo Ryan Court.

With the victory, Whitewater joins UW-River Falls and UW-Stevens Point in a three-way tie for the WIAC lead, each at 9-4.


Platteville (12-10, 5-8) held a 48-47 halftime lead, but the Warhawks (16-6) hammered the Pioneers 41-29 in the second half for the victory. The Warhawks made 12 of 14 free throws in the second half to finish 21 of 23.


Bundy’s 30-point effort, was just short of her season-high of 32 against Loras College, Nov. 17. Kelsey Hendrickson and Heidi Sonntag added 17 apiece, while Chantel Burg chipped in 14 points.
