Janesville Jets fall to IceDiggers

— The Janesville Jets lost the rubber match of an NAHL North Division three-game series with the Alpena IceDiggers, 3-1, before 493 fans at the Janesville Ice Skating Center on Sunday.

Alpena scored in the first period and added a pair of goals in the third for a 3-0 lead over Janesville (20-17-3). Rui Encarnacao scored on assist from Ross Mauermann, a Janesville Parker graduate, at 15:48 for the Jets’ lone goal.

Alpena goaltender Marco Wieser made 26 saves, while Janesville’s Matt Wichorek posted 17 saves.
