Delavan-Darien boys finally turn back Elkhorn, other scores

Delavan-Darien High’s boys basketball team ended a six-year losing streak to Elkhorn in emphatic style Tuesday night.


Tyler Butke scored 22 points, and the Comets raced out to a 23-point halftime lead en route to a 71-47 win over the host Elks in a Southern Lakes Conference game.


Delavan-Darien (7-7, 4-5), which hadn’t beaten Elkhorn since December of 2004, led 18-7 after the first quarter and never looked back. Justin Fowlkes added 16 points for the Comets.


Cole Kessler led the Elks


(7-8, 4-4) with 11 points.

Dustin Milz scored five of his 19 points in overtime, when Westosha outscored the visiting Broncos 10-4. Austin Damaschke added 14 points in the win.


Union Grove’s Nathan Radke scored 21 points, while Caleb Beachem added 15.
