— Rep.-elect Janis Ringhand, D-Evansville, will hold an open house in her new Madison office before her inauguration to the Assembly on Monday.

Everyone is welcome to attend her open house from noon to 1:30 p.m. at her office on the fourth floor of the Capitol, Room 418N. The 2 p.m. inauguration in the Assembly Chamber is open to the public, but seating will not be available, according to a news release.

Ringhand, who will represent the 80th District, has been assigned to three committees: rural economic development and rural affairs, urban and local affairs and veterans and military affairs.

“I am very happy to have received these committee assignments and look forward to working with constituents on issues in these areas,” Ringhand said in a statement. “These are especially a good fit for our rural district.”

Ringhand said her experience as a local municipal official will be helpful on the committees, as well as her activity in the VFW Post 6905 as the auxiliary secretary for several years.

Ringhand’s legislative assistant is Maggie Gau, who has worked in the Capitol the last two years and served as an intern for two years. Gau will be in the office everyday and assist Ringhand with constituent issues.

As of Monday, Ringhand’s contact information will be P.O. Box 8953, Madison, WI 53708; phone (608) 266-1192 or 1-888-534-0080; fax (608) 282-3680; e-mail rep.ringhand@legis.wi.gov; website http://ringhand.assembly.wi.gov.
