Money nets winning goal for Janesville Bluebirds
Brad Money got the Janesville Bluebirds back on the winning track Wednesday night.
The Janesville Parker junior had two goals, including the game-winner late in the game, to lift Janesville’s co-op boys high school hockey team to a 2-1 win over Kettle Moraine in the third-place game of the Joe Raymond Memorial Tournament.
Janesville (7-3-1) got 15 saves from Collin Cropp and two assists from Sean MacDougall.
“It was probably our best overall game of the season,” Janesville coach John Mauermann said. “We got the puck to the net, moved the puck nicely on defense and played physical.”
Money got the Bluebirds on the board at 4:40 of the first and got the game-winner with just under three minutes to play after poking in MacDougall’s initial shot.
Janesville returns to Big Eight Conference action next Saturday at Beloit Memorial.
