Janesville Parker triumphs for title

— Janesville Parker High girls basketball team survived a rough battle to defeat host

La Crosse Logan, 50-40, for the Logan tournament championship Wednesday.


Logan (3-3) was whistled for 25 fouls. Parker made 30 of 43 free-throw attempts. The Vikings’ made 14 of 20 attempts in the first half and 16 of 23 in the second half.


Savannah Shepler bore the brunt of the physical play, scoring all 12 of her points from the foul line on 14 attempts.


Ashley Hartwig and Danielle Flood scored 11 points apiece to join Shepler in double figures.


The Vikings (6-2) held the Rangers to single digits in the first half for a 24-15 lead.
