Cougars’ late burst leaves Fury behind

A three-goal outburst in the third period lifted the Cap City Cougars to a 5-1 win over the Rock County Fury in high school girls hockey Monday night in Madison.

Rock County (5-4) tied the game at 1-1 in the second period on Haley Bayreuther’s unassisted goal, but the Cougars (4-1) scored four unanswered goals to pull away.

Caitlyn Gusk made 41 saves for Rock County.
