Tommy Dvorak won two events for Janesville Parker’s boys swim team Friday, but the Verona Wildcats’ depth proved to be the difference in a Big Eight Conference dual mee Friday.

Verona won seven of 11 events in pulling away for a 106-64 victory.

Parker (1-2-1) also got wins from Nate Sigmund in the 100 breaststroke and from the 400 freestyle relay team of Matt Simon, Dvorak, Markus Murdy and Brandon Jackson. Dvorak, a sophomore, won the 50 freestyle in 23.9 and the 100 butterfly in 57.73.

“Tommy had a very nice meet for us,” Parker High coach Eric Rhodes said. “That was a personal-best time in the 100 butterfly and the first time he has ever been below 58 seconds.

“As for our team, the goal coming in was to try and keep Verona under 100 points. We almost did, but they have a lot of depth in their lineup.”

Parker will compete in the Elkhorn Invitational today.
